NVIDIA RTX 3000 series
In October 2020, NVIDIA officially launched the Geforce RTX 3000 series (codenamed Ampere) which includes the 3070, 3080 and 3090 GPUs. Sold directly by NVIDIA as the Founder's Edition and by several add-in-board partners, this new generation boasts improved RTX performance, improved 4k performance and a better price-to-performance ratio than the previous 2000-series.
AMD Ryzen 5000 series
Following up from the very popular Ryzen 3000 series, AMD released Ryzen 5000 series CPUs in November of 2020. Third generation Zen (Zen 3) boasts a substantial IPC improvement over previous generation and is offered in configurations ranging from 6 cores to 16 cores. It uses the same AM4 sockets as previous Ryzen generations and is supported by B450 and 500-series chipsets.
AMD Radeon RX 6000 series
Known as "Big Navi" or "RDNA2", the Radeon RX 6000 GPUs from AMD offer nearly double the performance as the previous 5000 series. Positioned to compete with the NVIDIA 3080 and 3090, the new Big Navi offering from AMD is a highly competitive offering.
Sony Playstation 5
The newest generation of Sony's Playstation line of dedicated gaming consoles, the Playstation 5, is powered entirely by AMD. Sporting an 8-core Zen 2 CPU paired with a RDNA-2-based GPU, the PS5 has enough power to rival some of the highest-end PC gaming rigs.
Microsoft Xbox Series X
The new Xbox Series X advertises true 4k gaming experience at up to 120FPS. Utilizing an 8-core Zen-2 processor and an RDNA-2-based GPU, the XBSX promises to deliver next-gen gaming experiences and can go toe-to-toe with high-end PC gaming rigs, at least for now.
